A year ago, Shen Yinyue became Xiao Yuluo’s personal maid in order to steal the Xiao Group’s psychic crystal.

A year later, “It’s time to return what you stole!” Xiao Yuluo said.

“But I already returned it to you a long time ago,” Yinyue said.

“Who wants that piece of junk! You stole my heart and made me lonely for a year. Are you ready to compensate me? My dear Sister Yueyue~”

“Don’t do this, Miss—”

The storyline of this novel is incredibly wholesome and exhilarating, exceeding my initial expectations. Initially, I rated it 3 out of 5, but as I progressed, the narrative only got better. Ultimately, I awarded it a full 5-star rating. Perhaps those who gave low scores only read the early chapters; I urge readers to persist until the end of Volume 1, where the thrill truly unfolds.

One reviewer has beautifully captured the heartwarming bond between the main characters, Yinyue and Yuluo, and I wholeheartedly agree. Their relationship is genuinely adorable and touching. Since they've covered that aspect, let me delve into the action scenes – a highlight for me as a fantasy reader. With some characters possessing extraordinary abilities, the action sequences are intense and well-executed. Initially drawn to the yuri aspect, I was pleasantly surprised by how captivating the fight scenes turned out to be, thanks to the translator's skill.

The battles were vividly portrayed, making it easy to follow along, which is often challenging in other action novels. Kudos to the translator for enhancing the reading experience. I look forward to reading Volume 2 once it's complete, as I believe it holds even more surprises.

Now, regarding a spoiler for Volume 2: based on hints shared, I'm eagerly anticipating a dance scene, wedding scene, and heartfelt confession. These elements promise an emotional journey that I'm excited to explore.

My favorite chapter so far in Volume 2 is Chapter 19, where Yinyue's comfort in Yuluo's embrace symbolizes their unbreakable connection and sets the stage for a beautiful awakening.

Lastly, there's a significant milestone in Volume 2 when Yinyue musters the courage to confront a long-standing issue, ultimately paving the way for a deeper emotional revelation and their eventual confession. It's a heartwarming moment that solidifies their growing bond.

总而言之, this novel continues to impress, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the journey. Thank you to the translator for their outstanding work.

I have a preference for Yuri stories and don't mind genderbender themes, but there are boundaries I adhere to. A heads up for those who share my interests: the main character (MC) can be both male and female. The love interest seems to prefer their female side, but it's not entirely clear. It appears that they are also accepting of the male MC. However, personally, I am not fond of genderbenders that can change back and forth, as it creates inconsistency and detracts from the yuri experience for me. It's worth noting that the MC asserts and prefers their original male identity.

Regrettably, this particular Chinese novel often finds itself trapped in an unconventional narrative structure where events seem to happen randomly to the characters without much logical coherence. It becomes increasingly difficult to engage with, as the plot frequently shifts to contrived situations without allowing for proper character development. Despite the consistently excellent translation by Tangerine, the novel as a whole fails to meet expectations.

I am thoroughly enjoying the narrative thus far and eagerly anticipate the upcoming chapters. The storyline begins a year after the protagonist, Yinyue, departs from her lady, Xiao Yuluo. Before her departure, Yinyue successfully wins Yuluo's heart, with occasional flashbacks that beautifully illustrate their past relationship, without overwhelming the story (just the right balance). The tale is divided into two distinct parts.

The first part focuses on the delightful, lighthearted, and romantic bond between Yinyue and Yuluo, which I find particularly enjoyable.

The second part delves into serious matters, including cult-related intrigue and thrilling action sequences. The chemistry between the two main characters is captivating, almost as if their connection was fated.

I must commend the translator, Little Tangerine, for their exceptional work. Their translations are swift, crisp, and convey the story exceptionally well, making it easy for readers to visualize and immerse themselves in the tale.

While the genre might not appeal to everyone, those who appreciate heartwarming and cute romances should definitely give this novel a try.

    Minor spoilers follow:

Yuluo exhibits a charming possessiveness, not the intrusive kind, but rather a protective affection towards Yinyue, cherishing and caring for her.

On the other hand, Yinyue initially appears aloof, but when it comes to Yuluo, her demeanor transforms entirely, showing a complete 180-degree shift in her feelings. Despite knowing Yuluo's intentions, she allows her lady's actions, hinting at a deep emotional connection.

Lastly, an update: Volume Two has significantly improved in terms of writing, maintaining its wholesome and humorous tone.

And another update: The ending is a satisfying conclusion!

The manga update of this is too slow so I'm gonna try reading the novel instead.
